The C.A.R.E.S Lab was founded in 2022 by Dr. Arnethea Sutton to to learn about cancer survivors’ experiences after their diagnosis and develop interventions to improve cancer survivors’ health and overall quality of life. C.A.R.E.S. Lab stands for Cancer Advocacy & Research for Equity in Survivorship. A key focus of the C.A.R.E.S lab is to address racial and geographic disparities in survivorship.
The C.A.R.E.S Lab is housed in the Virginia Commonwealth University College of Humanities and Sciences. Funding for the C.A.R.E.S Lab’s research comes from the National Cancer Institute.
